Chapter VI ยท Pursuits
Things I keep practicing
The work outside the work: small products, open-source debt, notes, taste, movement, and the habit of staying curious.
Build small products
I like the early messy stretch: a rough problem, a few conversations, a prototype that barely stands, and the first moment someone uses it without needing an explanation.
Write useful notes
The best notes are not announcements. They are sharp little receipts from the work: what broke, what scaled, what surprised me, and what I would do differently next time.
Contribute back
Open source is the quiet infrastructure behind almost everything I build. I try to leave issues, docs, snippets, and fixes in better shape than I found them.
Stay physically honest
Long walks, lifting, and time away from the screen keep the work from becoming too abstract. The body is a very good debugger for an overfull mind.
